5 out of 5: Through The Ever Night by Veronica Rossi

Through The Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2) by Veronica Rossi
Summary:
It's been months since Aria last saw Perry. Months since Perry was named Blood Lord of the Tides, and Aria was charged with an impossible mission. Now, finally, they are about to be reunited. But their reunion is far from perfect. The Tides don't take kindly to Aria, a former Dweller. And with the worsening Aether storms threatening the tribe's precarious existence, Aria begins to fear that leaving Perry behind might be the only way to save them both.

Threatened by false friends, hidden enemies, and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, Can their love survive through the ever night?

In this second book in her spellbinding Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi combines fantasy and dystopian elements to create a captivating love story as perilous as it is unforgettable.

Review:
This book was the perfect size; there was never a dull moment. The first book was beyond my expectation and once again Veronica Roth manages to maintain that excitement.

In the first book it was easy to feel the hard-ships of Perry, and Aria. Although their relationship is still the main focus, Roar finally gets his break to chase after the girl he loves. At one moment in this book, all the relationships started to crumble. So, not only does the intriguing plot keep you piling through this book, but the concern for the characters to meet up again does that too.

All the characters contribute to the play out of the plot. Most of the time when certain people have supernatural powers in a book, one power seems to shine above all the other, yet in this book, there doesn't seem to be one ultimate talent that everyone wants. Each gift seems to have a flaw. This makes the book seem more plausible and uncertain.

Throughout the book out the book you feel the development of old characters and you meet new characters. Some of the old characters have a great change of heart, but the more shocking  discoveries are the goals of the new characters. Specifically in one scene, when Perry and Aria catches on to the intentions of a new character, there is -what I call- a major movie moment. That moment when everything is so clear that you can easily see that scene become a movie. And if you were watching the adaptation, that scene would cause you to shiver.

The whole Under the Never Sky series deserves a lot more recognition. It is one of those books that keeps you reading until you realize that it's almost 1 am. Read this series and enjoy it!
