5 out of 5: Auracle by Gina Rosati

Auracle (Auracle) by Gina Rosati
Summary:
16 year old Anna Rogan has a secret she's only shared with her best friend, Rei; she can astrally project out of her body, allowing her spirit to explore the world and the far reaches of the universe.

When there's a fatal accident and her classmate Taylor takes over Anna's body, what was an exhilarating distraction from her repressive home life threatens to become a permanent state. Faced with a future trapped in another dimension, Anna turns to Rei for help. Now the two of them must find a way to get Anna back into her body and stop Taylor from accusing an innocent friend of murder. Together Anna and Rei form a plan but it doesn't take into account the deeper feelings that are beginning to grow between them.

Review:
This is a well rounded book, I loved the action/plot and I especially loved (most) of the characters in this book.
Quiet literally 10 pages in, I adored Rei. Smart, intelligent  funny, hot guy, what more could you want? The most adorable part is that Anna and Rei have known each other for throughout their lives. Rei and Anna both treat each other like a brother or sister. Anna has some trouble at home with her father, but Rei is always there to make sure that Anna is ok. Right of the bat, I'm hoping Anna and Rei get together. With this hopeful lovestory in site, it easy to become attached to the characters. So, when Taylor dies, it ruins everything! Starting from that point, I don't think I've hated a 'Taylor' as much as I have in this book.

But, that's enough hatred, I'll let you witness it yourself. I usually read books that are in a series, so, I thought this book would have a sequel or something. As a result, while I was half way through the book, I kept thinking "I don't think I can wait a whole year just for this issue to resolve!" Later, I found out this book is a stand-alone. I was happy and sad because without another book means there's no more Rei and Anna! Yet, at the same time, at least I wouldn't have to go through a whole year hating on a fictional character.

Although there won't be anymore Rei, after reading the ending, I think I can live with that.
