Summary:Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.
A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?
Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves. Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.
Review:
Personally, I like reading books about a specific thing when it's around that season. For example, I like reading love stories around Valentine's Day to remind myself that I am, yet again, single. Just kidding, but I do read specific things during specific holidays/seasons.So, to get into a lovey-dovey mood, I read this book, which is just SO adorable. How often do people fall for each other in an airport, anyways?
Hadley's character, is a bit of an odd character. She's claustrophobic, and she's smart and witty. She's also more mature than most 17 year old girls. Having experienced a very tragic family "break-up", Hadley was the one to pick up her mother's pieces when she was broken.
The book is a bit slow. Hadley is always thinking about memories of her dad, her mom, and relating them back to the present.
This book isn't exactly filled with twists, but there are certainly a few, but they really aren't crazy. So if you like suspicion and craziness, this isn't exactly the book for you. Because I enjoy love stories that are completely cheesy and adorable, I read right through this.
Happy Valentine's Day!
