5 out of 5: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa Meyer
Summary:
Cinder returns in the second thrilling installment of the New York Times-bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother and the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she has no choice but to trust him, though he clearly has a few dark secrets of his own.

As Scarlet and Wolf work to unravel one mystery, they find another when they cross paths with Cinder. Together, they must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen who will do anything to make Prince Kai her husband, her king, her prisoner.

Review:
So the cover of the ARC says "This time, it's Little Red Riding Hood set in the distant future. And yes, there is a big, bad Wolf." It sounds completely cheesy; however, this book is quite the opposite.

By using this famous legend we all know -Little Red Riding Hood-, Marissa Meyer keeps you guessing "Is he good? Is he bad? Should we trust him?" throughout the book. It's absolutely frustrating and intriguing at the same time!

This book starts with Scarlet's point of view, and I don't read summaries because sometimes it reveals half the book, and that's no fun. So, I thought Cinder would not be in this book, but she does! I loved how Marissa connects Scarlet and Cinder together.

I cannot believe I have to wait another year for the next book, and another TWO years for the last book! Please, do yourself a favor and read this book.
